Frances Fu is the Curriculum Officer for the HEAL Initiative, a 2-year global health fellowship. She focuses on curriculum development for HEAL’s summer intensive programs and longitudinal curriculum for HEAL fellows.

Frances joined the HEAL Initiative shortly after completing her MPH in Health and Social Behavior at UC Berkeley in 2019. Her work and research in her MPH focused on intergenerational trauma in refugee communities, transmission mechanisms of trauma, and the importance of youth development programs to address socio-emotional wellness. Frances was born and raised in East Oakland where her passions in social justice and community organizing were discovered through youth and women empowerment programs.
