Ethics in the Hospital: Challenging Cases

Sirisha Narayana, MD

Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine

Dr. Sirisha Narayana in the Chair of the Ethics Committee and director of the Ethics consult service. She joined the UCSF faculty in the Fall of 2014 and the Ethics Committee shortly thereafter motivated in large part by her academic interests in complex medical decision-making, which intersects with her work in medical education and clinical reasoning.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Evaluate complex ethical cases in the hospital using an objective framework.
  2. Recall how and when to call an Ethics consult
  3. Familiarize yourself with the concepts of moral distress and moral residue.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Best wishes,

Stephanie and Steve
