- Priya Prasad and colleagues from San Francisco Orthopedic Residency Program at St. Mary’s conducted a study comparing multifocal to unifocal spine infections among patients treated surgically for pyogenic spinal infection over a 6-year period. They found that region of spinal surgery was a significant risk factor for multifocal infection. Read More
- Sujatha Sankaran examined how effective pre-operative risk stratification algorithms are at predicting adverse events in patients receiving elective craniotomy. They found that while risk algorithms are effective at predicting cardiovascular outcomes, they are less effective at predicting neurosurgical complications that often drive the morbidity and mortality caused by these procedures.
