Joseph Scarpelli is the Director of Recruitment + Partnerships for the HEAL Initiative, a 2-year global health fellowship started by DHM faculty Drs. Sriram Shamasunder and Phuoc Le. Joseph received his MPH in Global Health Management from the Boston University School of Public Health and a BA in English and Peace and Conflict Studies from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. Prior to joining the HEAL Initiative, Joseph managed Product Innovations for One Acre Fund in Western Kenya. Joseph has previously done global health work in Uganda and the Philippines.

At HEAL Joseph focuses on managing all aspects of day-to-day operation of the fellowship, from recruitment, to partnership building, to planning of a 3-week fellow training. In addition, he focuses on various big picture priorities such as scale, impact, and philanthropy.
