Interview with Yuntao Zou
A Conversation with Yuntao Zou, Clinical Instructor
We all have someone who inspires us. Who is this person for you?
My grandfather, who always told me that we should enjoy the process instead of the result.
There are people who live to eat and eat to live. Are you more of a "work to live" or a "live to work" type of person?
I am in the between but more towards to "live to work." Research is my passion. If I am out of research field for a long time, I feel my life becomes boring.
What's something you believed earlier in your career but think about differently now?
Too much "details driven" may harm. There are a lot of medical emergencies in the real world. During the time if we spend too much time on the details, we may delay the most important. And we may miss the big clinical picture as well while focusing on the details.
If the power was out and you're home alone, what would you do?
Definitely went out to enjoy the mountain and sea, even the power was not out. I recommend Route 1, especially Half-moon Bay and Big Sur, is my favorite.
If you had unlimited resources, how would you live your life?
Devote myself more to research. Database analysis.
Tomorrow is the last day on Earth, but you have time for one fantastic last meal. What would it be?
Sushi rolls and Tempura are my favorite. I usually order the sushi and go to the beach or park to enjoy it. Hakashi Japanese Sushi Bar & Grill is a great one at 474 3rd St.
