Brandon Scott, MD, MBA
Assistant Professor
As a practicing physician with a focus on healthcare systems improvement, I integrate frontline clinical experience with operational execution to advance a more effective, equitable, and patient-centered care delivery experience.
I am an Assistant Clinical Professor and Hospitalist in UCSF’s Division of Hospital Medicine, where I provide care for hospitalized patients and supervise and educate medical trainees in the hospital setting.
I serve as Medical Director of the UCSF Parnassus Hospital Medicine Service, where I provide clinical and operational leadership for Hospital Medicine services at Parnassus. In this role, I work closely with physician and interdisciplinary leaders to support safe, high-quality, and efficient patient care. I also lead data-informed operational improvement efforts aligned with UCSF Health and Hospital Medicine priorities.
I also serve as UCSF Health Medical Director for Value Improvement, advising and supporting health system–level value improvement initiatives. In this role, I support data-driven and financial analyses for improvement projects and provide leadership for the UCSF Caring Wisely program.
I completed Internal Medicine residency at UCSF where I completed the Health Systems and Leadership Pathway. As co-chair of the Internal Medicine Residency Diversity Committee, I helped develop the program’s inaugural Anti-Racism Curriculum and Symposium.
Prior to my career in medicine, I worked in management consulting at Oliver Wyman. I earned my MD and MBA from UCLA and my undergraduate degree from Yale University where I played varsity football.
