A RYAN Sharma, MD, MPH

Associate Professor

A Ryan Sharma is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine at UCSF. He joined the faculty in July 2018 after completing his residency.

Ryan received his undergraduate degree in Human Development with neuroscience emphasis from the University of California, Davis. He then attended Stanford University School of Medicine where he completed his Physician Assistant (PA) training and concurrently earned his Master of Public Health (MPH) Degree from San Jose State University. He earned his Master of Medical Science (MMS) degree at Saint Francis University prior to receiving his medical degree from the University of Sydney Medical School in Sydney Australia. Ryan completed his Internal Medicine internship at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Darby, PA and his Internal Medicine Residency Training at Scripps Clinic/Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, CA

Ryan serves as a Nocturnist and attends on the medicine teaching service. He is the Assistant Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program and serves on many committees that enhances resident education. He championed the Global Health Rotation/Curriculum for the IM Residents. His clinical interests include Medical Education, DEI, LGBTQ+ Health, HTN, DM and CAD in ethnic minorities, CNS Malignancies, Sarcomatoid Lung Carcinoma, STD/HIV in ethnic minorities, Global Health, International Health, Health Literacy, Medical Missions, and Health Equity/Disparities.
