Timothy Judson, MD, MPH

Assistant Professor

Timothy Judson, MD MPH is a hospital medicine and urgent care physician, clinical informaticist and Assistant Professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. As Medical Director of Care Delivery Transformation. Dr. Judson leads the population health innovation team, which designs, implements, and evaluates new virtual care models with the goal of improving clinical outcomes at scale. In his role as Medical co-Director of Adult Care Transitions, Dr. Judson sets strategy for programs aimed at providing safe discharge, deceasing readmissions, and improving post-acute care.

Dr. Judson has led the creation of several digital health tools at UCSF, including the COVID-19 Symptom Checker, UCSF’s first self-triage and self-scheduling module. He was also the clinical product lead for the UCSF Employee Health Screener, which was used to conduct over 1 million daily symptom and exposure screens of UCSF employees. He co-leads several programs aimed at improving chronic disease management using remote patient monitoring. He is working to incorporate AI-based risk prediction into population health and transitions efforts.

Dr. Judson received his bachelor's degree in Biology and Community health and his Masters in Public Health from Tufts University, and his medical degree from the Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed Internal Medicine Residency at UCSF, followed by a Chief Residency at UCSF, Parnassus Hospital.
