Timothy Judson, MD, MPH

Timothy Judson, MD, MPH

Dr. Timothy Judson serves as the interim Chief Population Health Officer for UCSF Health. Dr. Judson is a hospital medicine and urgent care physician, clinical informaticist, and accomplished health system leader in population health and digital health. He is also the Chief Clinical & Innovation Officer at UCSF-affiliated Canopy Health, where he oversees quality and value of care for over 40,000 Canopy Health members. He previously served as Medical Director of Care Delivery Transformation in the Office of Population Health, and Medical co-Director of Adult Care Transitions for UCSF Health. In these capacities, he has been instrumental in developing the infrastructure for robust population health programs and safe patient discharges. Dr. Judson has played a pivotal role in advancing digital health at UCSF, leading the development and implementation of several prominent digital health tools, including the patient-facing COVID-19 Symptom Checker, and the employee-facing COVID Daily Health Screener.

Dr. Judson received his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College and his master’s degree in public health from the Tufts University School of Medicine. He joined UCSF for internal medicine residency and was chief resident at Parnassus. Dr. Judson is passionate about rigorously studying and evaluating population health and digital health programs and has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles in JAMA, JAMA Internal Medicine, BMJ, JAMIA, JGIM, JHM, and others.
